The youngest of all wow’d the audience during a special concert at the White House on Thursday. Patty LaBelle, Aretha Franklin, Jill Scott, Ariana Grande, and more performed in front of the Obama‘s for Women of Soul: In Performance at the White House. The twenty-year-old pop star covered a Whitney Houston classic, “I Have Nothing” and received a standing ovation. She also performed “Tattooed Heart” and joined Jill Scott, Tessanne Chin, Melissa Etheridge, Patti LaBelle, and Janelle Monáe on “Proud Mary.” (more…)

The sudden passing of Paul Walker still has many in shock. He touched the lives of so many people and will never be forgotten, leaving many people paying tribute to him. Mrs. Carter, Beyonce, decided to pay tribute to Paul Walker by dedicating a performance to him. During her “The Mrs.Carter Tour World Tour,” she took a moment to dedicate two songs to Paul. She said, “I dedicate these songs to Paul Walker,” starting off with “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston and finishing off with her own “Halo.” Check out the touching performance below via Hollywood Life and what her fans had to say about it below!
Though she refers to her sound as “genreless” and colorless, her music is far from bland, meet this week’s #TELLAFRIEND Artist of the Week, singer/songwriter Stacy Barthe. Born in Brooklyn, NY, Stacy grew up listening to the sounds of Lauryn Hill, Anita Baker, Whitney Houston and Bob Marley and by the age of seven she was musically inclined to write her first liner! Unlike most people, Stacy started as an intern for Geffen after college and then later interned for Jive where she got her first break!
Since then, she’s wrote track’s for Brittany Spears, “Blur,” Rihanna “Cheers,” Katy Perry “Hummingbird Heartbeat” and more! She’s also been in the studio with a lot of your favorite artist such as T.I., Andre 3000 and Rick Ross! Not only that but Stacy has launched four EP’s in the last two years, just recently her R&B tape (our personal favorite) P.S. I Love You dropped back in February; just in time for cuffing-season. He’s been making music professionally since the age 17, meet this week’s #TELLAFRIEND Artist of the Week, JMSN. From the Chi, JMSN used music as an escape from the streets; instead of skipping school to do drugs, he’d skip school to do music. Growing up, his music influences were Whitney Houston, Prince, Fiona Apple, Radiohead and of course Eminem.
His first contract was with Atlantic Records as, Love Arcade; that didn’t last too long as Atlantic dropped him and Warner Bros picked him up as Christian TV. Fast-forward to present time and JMSN is born with his first project, Priscilla. Since then he’s worked with Kendrick Lamar on good kid, m.A.A.d. city., Game on his Jesus Piece and now currently with Drake!
