The rising L.A. songwriter, Paloma Ford, has now returned with another single, “Summer In California.” With all that California rap influence, it only made sense to feature a couple of emcees from the region, and much like the beat, multiple generations are represented, as both Snoop Dogg and Iamsu! contribute verses. New Music: William Bell Ft. Snoop Dogg – “I Forgot To Be Your Lover”

Martin Shore’s documentary Take Me to the River hits theaters on September 12. The film examines the influence of Memphis culture on the America’s music scene, focusing on the struggles of racism and segregation that have plagued the south. The documentary is narrated by Terrence Howard, and features appearances from Mavis Staples, Otis Clay, Yo Gotti, William Bell, and Snoop Dogg himself. The lead track is now being premiered from the movie’s companion album, Take Me to the River: Music from the Motion Picture. The lead track is titled, “I Forgot to Be Your Lover” by William Bell with the STAX Music Academy Students featuring Snoop Dogg. The track is a modern interpretation of the soul classic. (more…)

Looks like the tables have turned. Late night TV host Jimmy Kimmel stops by Snoop Dogg‘s ‘GGN’ show for a hilarious interview. The two share great stories of their pasts, Jimmy talked about working at KROQ and how he first met Snoop. On this new 18-track mixtape we get a more confident Adrian with even more bedroom bangers. The tape is hosted by Don Cannon, DJ Carisma, and DJ Amen and features Kelly Rowland, Casey Veggies, Snoop Dogg, E-40, Kirko Bangz, and Raphael Saadiq – with a team like that, it’s hard for this project to be a flop. Just recently he dropped his collaboration piece with Young and Reckless, he sold his mixtape for $100 last year, and calls himself a book addict, meet this week’s #TELLAFRIEND Artist of the Week, Nipsey Hu$$le. Born in ’85, it was Death Row that inspired Nip’s music. The Chronic impacted him and his community, to the point were Nip and a close friend would pretend to be Snoop Dogg and Dr. Dre. The Los Angeles-native has come a long way and it was his last mixtape, Crenshaw, that had all eyes on him.
