Earlier this year when Mac Miller and Pharrell announced their Pink Slime EP we were excited! We knew it would be a hot collab, but the EP didn’t drop. They stopped working on their project together and put it on pause. We’re excited to announce that they’ve announced they’ll be continuing the EP and it will drop next year. Paying homage to Pharrell during “Pharrell Week,” Trackademicks releases a remix to a N.E.R.D. classic, “Run To The Sun.” It’s not easy to rework a track that’s a fan favorite on it’s own, but Trackademicks makes it happen!
He leaked the track on Instagram with the caption “…no one has ever ‘struck a chord’ with me the way they did. Normally I wouldn’t have touched anything they’ve ever done, but it started coming together unintentionally… Just go with the #Flow, #Track!”
In hopes of raising money for Bono‘s (RED) charity auction, U2 and Nile Rodgers join together to perform Daft Punk & Pharrell William‘s “Get Lucky,” which Nile co-wrote and produced. Later, Coldplay‘s Chris Martin joined Bono on stage to perform Lou Reed‘s “Perfect Day.” Anything U2 does turns to gold, so watching the performance is pretty amazing. Especially when the performances are for a good cause. (RED) is Bono’s non-profit organization which seeks to fight against AIDS. What was the cost of watching Bono cover songs? The Pharrell-produced track from Aloe Blacc finally gets its set of visuals. “Love Is The Answer” brings up the issue of “willful defiance” and uses two teens as an example. Why he does this? In his own word, “there has to be a better solution to the problem of troubled teens, there has to be some sort of community decision and action that can happen around helping to guide these kids.” It’s refreshing to know there are still artist producing music for a better cause.
Azealia Banks releases the visuals for her new single “ATM Jam” featuring Pharrell Williams. The video includes clips of different pink and purple worlds. “Tapping who she refers to as “Sailor Goon”, the former mermaid dwells in a world full of purple trees and pink pools,” XXL Magazine described. Israeli producer Borgore, pop singer Paige and hip-hop artist Waka Flocka Flame team up to collaborate on the song “Wild Out.” Waka’s verse is the perfect introduction to this EDM track, which is sure to be a banger. ”Working with Waka was like working with the energy of an MMA fight, while Paige brought a serene, silky, angel-like voice and I had to somehow mix them both together,” Borgore said about the collaboration.
