Ten years later…… Revolt TV puts together an amazing piece for the ten year anniversary of Jay-Z‘s triple platinum selling Black Album. Producers Pharrell Williams, Just Blaze, 9th Wonder and Aqua reflect on what it was like to produce for the album. Jay-Z promoted his list of producers long before even receiving songs from them. It was a high-pressure situation, but fun none-the-less. All of the producers, in one building at the same time, but in different rooms just creating music for something that we’re sure even then they knew would be a classic. Additional commentary on the extent of Jay-Z and the album’s drive, passion, creativity and brilliance is provided by others as well, such as Young Chris, Irv Gotti, DJ Khaled, Swizz Beatz, Gabby Peluso (former GM of Def Jam) and Jonathan Mannion (photographer). This has got to be one of the most powerful anniversary pieces we’ve seen thus far! It’s a must watch, for sure.
Happy 10th anniversary to the monumental Black Album, released 10 years ago today in honor of Jay-Z‘s retirement (we’re glad that didn’t stick). Revolt TV goes behind the scenes to commemorate and interviews Just Blaze, the producer behind the album’s interlude. Jay-Z poured his heart into the album, but what you may not have known was that Just Blaze was actually the voice in the interlude. Let Just Blaze take you back 10 years to a place where magic was created below!
