Video: Nelly Furtado – “Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)”

Nelly Furtado‘s first visuals off the forthcoming The Spirit Indestructible (her return to English-language music), “Big Hoops (Bigger the Better)” features Nelly walking on stilts and among skyscrapers, and breaking it down with tribal dancers. The Rodney Jerkins-produced joint is poised to be a sleeper summer hit. Pop the hood for the Little X-directed video.

Video: Brian McKnight – “If Ur Ready To Learn”

The Brian McKnight f***ery continues with this Funny or Die-produced, full-length video for the hilariously, skin-crawlingly awkward “If Ur Ready To Learn” (aka “How Your P**** Works”). In the video, Brian teaches a gang of (mostly confused) ladies a thing or two about their anatomy. It’s too early in the day for this! Hit the jump to see the video.

Video: Tyga ft. Drake – “Still Got It”

In the second new Tyga clip of the day, the Young Money rookie time travels to 1988 Harlem to spit game at a girl who may be unavailable. The Chris Robinson-directed visual features all the flash and flair of the chains and boomboxes era of hip hop, and features a cameo by Harlem native Teyana Taylor. Drake is noticeably absent from the video. Pop the hood for the video.

Rihanna Takes on “SNL”

Proving yet again that we never really need to hear Rihanna sans ProTools, the Bajan bad girl took the stage at “SNL” this past Saturday to perform a handful of songs off Talk That Talk. After a shaky medley of the title track and “Birthday Cake”, she returned later in the show to do “Where Have You Been” and had mostly gotten it together. The second performance was better in almost every way, continuing the theme of the music video, and she even showed off some of those new dance moves. Gotta love the commitment if nothing else (besides her body). Hit the jump to see both performances.

Video: Tyga ft. Big Sean – “I’m Gone”

Tyga slows it down and gets serious in the latest from Careless World. The Big Sean-assisted clip features an Iron Man-esque Tyga who leaves delivers his heart to a shorty resembling old school Halle Berry. Pop the hood for the video.

Video: Trey Songz – “Heart Attack”

This is definitely my favorite R&B cut of the moment. Trey Songz drops the video to his latest, “Heart Attack”, featuring none other than Kelly Rowland as the girl who causes him both pleasure and pain. In the Benny Boom-helmed video, the two experience highs and lows, culminating in a potentially deadly event. Hit the jump to see the video.

Nicki Minaj’s First Pepsi Commercial

I’ve been purposely trying to minimize the Onika posts around here (and, in turn, the Onika shade), but I figured I’d sprinkle you guys with Ms. Minaj’s first clip for her massive ad campaign deal with Pepsi. The commercial finds two people who are able to freeze time and end up at Nicki’s concert, on stage with her, to the soundtrack of “Moment 4 Life”. As you might imagine, Nicki was able to perfect a creepy doll face for her freeze fame (see above). I’ve never had anything bad to say about that record, so it’s refreshing to hear it (even in a sped-up, poppy format) as opposed to whatever is the latest single off Roman Reloaded. Pop the hood to see the full commercial.

Beastie Boys’ MCA Dead at 47

“Beastie Boys” rapper MCA — real name Adam Yauch — has died.

In 2009, MCA announced he was being treated for a cancerous parotid gland and a lymph node. He has since undergone surgery and radiation therapy. So far, it’s not clear if the death is related to the rapper’s battle with cancer.

Russell Simmons’ website GlobalGrind.com first reported the death. We have spoken to people independently connected to the rapper who also say he is dead. Yauch co-founded Beastie Boys in 1979 with Mike D, Mix Master Mike, and Ad Roc. The group has won multiple Grammys. Yauch became a vegan at the recommendation of his Tibetan doctors.

Yauch is survived by his wife and daughter. He was 47.

Rita Ora Talks Dating, Rihanna Collab and Instagram

Mando sat down for an exclusive with the up and coming Roc Nation superstar to talk about features on her debut album, being mentored by Jay-Z and Kanye, drawing inspiration from Gwen Stefani, those ever-present Rihanna comparisons and says she would like to work with Riri.

Rita also spoke on her early connection with Bruno Mars, whether or not she’s a football (soccer) fan, plus rumors about dating (Rob Kardashian) and Instagram. One thing’s for sure, though — the firecracker loves her Tabasco and she’s not afraid to show it. Check out the video for more on the Brit beauty’s rising career.
