New Video: Nick Jonas – “Chains”

Nick Jonas has definitely traded in his Mickey Mouse ears, making it very clear in his music video “Chains” that he isn’t the little Jonas brother we all knew. In addition to his delightful vocals, the Jonas brother intrigues us with sick bass stabs and disconcerting visuals. The song gets pretty deep quoting that he’s “breaking through chains,” could he be talking about the chains to a past lover or the chains with his brothers resulting in him launching his solo career? As if the Canadian reggae group hasn’t been rocking the charts all summer, MAGIC! has come out with a remix to their chart-topping single, “Rude.” With verses from Kid Ink and Ty Dolla $ign, in addition to the drums provided by Blink 182′s Travis Barker, the song has received a total west coast makeover. New Music: William Bell Ft. Snoop Dogg – “I Forgot To Be Your Lover”

Martin Shore’s documentary Take Me to the River hits theaters on September 12. The film examines the influence of Memphis culture on the America’s music scene, focusing on the struggles of racism and segregation that have plagued the south. The documentary is narrated by Terrence Howard, and features appearances from Mavis Staples, Otis Clay, Yo Gotti, William Bell, and Snoop Dogg himself. The lead track is now being premiered from the movie’s companion album, Take Me to the River: Music from the Motion Picture. The lead track is titled, “I Forgot to Be Your Lover” by William Bell with the STAX Music Academy Students featuring Snoop Dogg. The track is a modern interpretation of the soul classic. (more…)
