Born and raised in Los Angeles California, Mando Fresko is one of Los Angeles’ top tastemakers who can be heard on the nation’s biggest hip-hop station, Power 106. He brings his incredible party-vibe, comedic personality and Latin culture to “The Mando Show,” reaching over 2 million listeners daily. Mando has had a love for music since he was a young teen. He started DJ’ing at the early age of 14, performed in high school talent shows and would DJ at his school dances.
In college he continued making a name for himself with his highly rated radio show that broadcasted on campus and on the web. As his popularity grew, he started attracting listeners from all over the world such as Australia, Puerto Rico and Japan. At the age of 20, his next move was to Los Angeles hip hop radio station Power 106, where he began in the promotions department and quickly made his way into becoming the youngest on-air radio personality in station history. Mando has done every time slot from mornings to nights and has interviewed everybody from Kanye West to The Goo Goo Dolls. He fell in love with the power of the microphone hitting the stage at concerts, entertaining crowds of over 20,000 people and can be seen DJ’ing at the hottest clubs in Los Angeles, Houston, and Tokyo, Japan.
In early 2007 Mando hit national television airwaves as host and DJ for “LATV LIVE” and because of his great ear for picking hits, he attained the position of music coordinator for the LATV Networks, reaching over 43 million homes. Maintaining valuable relationships with key artist and being successful in television and radio, Mando has now also taken the role of fashion designer. With his entrepreneur mentality and passion for fashion, he currently is developing and collaborating with Internationally renowned clothing brand, Orisue. He recently joined MTV as host for Tr3s in late 2011.
He attended Cerritos College Television & Radio Program and is graduating from UCLA with a Communications and Psychology degree. He is currently training for an upcoming role with acting coach Aaron Speiser who works with notable actors such as Will Smith, Jennifer Lopez and Virginia Madsen. Mando currently resides in Hollywood, California.
